ABOUT THE TEACHER

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Trombonist Samuel Anderson is a graduate of Vanderbilt University, where he studied with Jeremy Wilson. After completing his undergraduate degree he began teaching and performing in central Indiana. There, he worked with a number of middle and high school band programs and taught a private studio from beginning low brass students to high school seniors.

Samuel enjoys helping students develop a routine as musicians, practice efficiently, and continue their learning outside of lessons.

In addition to teaching Samuel performed with several chamber groups, orchestras, and big bands. He toured Indiana, Iowa, and presented recitals in Germany with the Beneficence Brass Quintet. Samuel’s duo, Wind Collision, has presented recitals and masterclasses at Franklin College, Limestone College, Oakland University, Ohio State University, University of South Carolina, and Winthrop University. He frequently performed with Marion Philharmonic, Muncie Symphony, and with the Muncie Civic Theatre. Samuel is currently pursuing his Masters of Music Performance at Yale University, with Professor Scott Hartman.
