ABOUT THE TEACHER
PROFESSIONAL BIO
Luther Wong is a professional trumpet player and educator based out of New York City. He has toured, performed, and recorded across the US for the past ten years. During this time he has taught students of all ages, skill levels, genres, and platforms. Working with iPiano Lab, lesson plans were crafted specifically for various schools in NYC including The Chapin School, Saint Stephen of Hungary School, St. Joseph's School, and PS 151 Yorkville Community School.
As an educator, Luther provides a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for students to learn and grow. Each individual lesson plan engages students in activities of creativity, discipline, technique, theory, ear training, and notation.
Luther holds a BFA in Jazz Trumpet Performance from the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. In 2016 he composed original music for “HOMAGE”, a production performed with the ALMA dance troupe at Symphony Space in NYC. He has worked with acclaimed international award winner Dr. Roland Davis and is the current trumpet player for the popular singer Robyn Adele Anderson.
